Job Description

Senior Software Engineer (Remote)
Casana is seeking a talented Senior Software Engineer to join our Software development team. Reporting to our Chief Technology Officer (CTO), you will work closely with your team and partner with our hardware, algorithm and clinical teams to design, develop, test, and deploy the software powering our innovative medical products and clinical research team. You must be a clear communicator, able to work independently, thrive in a startup environment, and be open to taking on new responsibilities. We look for team members who contribute diverse perspectives to our group and are eager to solve complex and unique problems. 

What You’ll Do
  • As part of our Software Development team - Design, implement, and maintain medical device and clinical studies management software 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify software requirements and ensure software integration with hardware and firmware.
  • Develop and maintain software documentation, including design documents, user manuals, and release notes.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to code quality improvement initiatives.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends, and identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
  • Other responsibilities as needed

What You’ll Bring: 
  • Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or closely related engineering field and/or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years of professional experience designing and delivering cloud application solutions preferably in AWS
  • Proficiency in python and with React based technologies
  • Familiarity with observability, metrics, and monitoring
  • Familiarity with secure programming best practices and the OWASP top 10
  • Experience with software development methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, or Kanban.
  • Experience with software testing and debugging, including unit testing and integration testing.
  • Experience working with containerized applications including deployment and scaling
  • Experience developing software as a medical (SaMD) or software in a medical device (SiMD) a plus

Compensation
Base salary range of $120,000 - 170,000 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Our compensation consists of base salary and equity as well as a generous benefits package.
