Community Blood Pressure Screening Study

About Casana:
We’re a medical device company focused on home healthcare. We’ve developed a device called the Heart Seat®, which is a toilet seat that can measure blood pressure, heart rate, and oxygen levels while you sit on it normally. This study is helping us improve how the Heart Seat measures blood pressure.

Purpose:
The purpose of this study is to improve the Heart Seat’s ability to measure blood pressure without needing a traditional blood pressure cuff.

What to Expect:
You will visit our lab in Waltham, MA for a 30 minute session! Instructions on how to get here will be provided for you once your visit is scheduled. There is plenty of free parking at the Waltham office.

Once you arrive you will complete the following:

1. You’ll review and sign the consent form

2. You’ll complete a brief health survey

3. You’ll change into a provided gown and remove your shoes. Your personal belongings will stay with you throughout the process, all conducted in a private room.

4. We’ll take basic measurements (height, weight, arm circumference)

5. You’ll sit on the Heart Seat while we take up to 8 blood pressure readings on both arms simultaneously

6. You’ll receive $50 cash or a digital gift card of your choice for completing the visit

7. You’ll earn a $5 gift card for each person you refer who signs up for the study, up to a total of $50
