Your SmartSeat uses a single-lead ECG made up of two electrodes to track the electrical activity of your heart.

Your SmartSeat’s PPG uses red and infrared light to detect oxygen levels, similar to how a standard pulse oximeter might.

Installation

Swap your current toilet seat with your SmartSeat by simply unscrewing two bolts and bolting the new seat on. Then, use the seat as part of your normal daily bathroom usage.

Data Collection

The SmartSeat can be programmed to recognize up to three users in your household. Guests or other users can use the seat without being monitored.

Health Insights

Easily access data over time in a simplified dashboard, with the option to share your health status with caregivers, loved ones and doctors at any time.

FAQs

Is the SmartSeat hard to install?

The seat’s bolts install directly on your toilet just like a regular seat. One caveat – our current model is only made for elongated seats, not the older round toilets.

How is the technology connected?

Bluetooth is used for device setup, while Wi-Fi powers daily usage.

How is the SmartSeat powered?

The SmartSeat is battery-powered for up to one year. If the battery runs low, Casana will send a replacement battery and tool free of charge.

Does the SmartSeat monitor my bowel movements or capture any visual footage?

No. The SmartSeat does not currently monitor any gastrointestinal health parameters. The seat does not have a microphone or camera

What does the SmartSeat currently measure?

The SmartSeat currently measures heart rate, blood oxygen levels, heart rate variability (HRV) and bathroom frequency.

Will my SmartSeat monitor other people in my home?

A bio-identification algorithm distinguishes individual users, only monitoring the health and well-being of the designated users. Guests who sit on the seat will not be monitored.

When will the SmartSeat be available?

Casana will begin a pre-sale of the product in the winter of 2024. Pre-orders will be updated via email of shipment status.
