The Smart Seat Toilet Seat Compatibility Guidance
Interested in purchasing a Smart Seat but not sure if it will fit your toilet? Use this compatibility guidance to determine if the Smart Seat is the right seat for your bathroom!
The Smart Seat fits on an Elongated toilet seat only.
There are two main types of toilet bowls: elongated and round. Most older toilet bowls are round, while most modern toilets typically have an elongated bowl.
Elongated toilets are more oval-shaped than round, as shown in the diagram below. If you're uncertain about which type of seat you have, follow these instructions for measuring your throne.
How to measure your toilet:
To measure the length of the bowl, locate the two mounting bolts at the seat hinge. From there, measure to the very front of the toilet bowl in a straight line. That straight line measurement will be about 16-1/2 inches if the bowl is round and 18-1/2 inches if your bowl is elongated. See image below for guidance.

The Smart Seat mounts with two standard US toilet bolts only.
Once you've confirmed that your seat is elongated, the next step is to determine bolt compatibility. The Smart Seat fastens to the toilet bowl with the US Standard Two Bolt System.
The US Standard Two Bolt System means that two bolts are positioned at the back of the toilet bowl, spaced apart at a standard distance of 5.5 inches center to center. These bolts pass down through the toilet seat holes in the porcelain, where nuts are tightened from underneath to hold everything in place. The bolt itself is a standard bolt that is 3/8 inch in diameter and ~2 inches long. See image below for guidance.
