Head of Consumer Growth
Waltham, MA or Remote
Casana is looking for a Head of Consumer Growth to own the D2C growth engine for our Smart Seat. You'll be the owner of the consumer acquisition funnel, from channel strategy and creative direction through budget allocation and performance measurement. This is a hands-on builder role. You're equally comfortable discussing CAC and LTV with the board and rolling your sleeves up and working directly in advertising platforms to launch, analyze, and optimize campaigns.
The ideal candidate has launched innovative consumer products into new categories and built the marketing engine to scale them. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will bring together category-building brand judgement, strong analytical discipline, and willingness to execute. You will also serve as a trusted commercial partner to the CEO, executive team, and board of directors.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute Casana's Smart Seat full-funnel consumer growth strategy, from awareness and education through conversion, retention, and recurring-service adoption.
- Own the consumer marketing budget and P&L across all paid channels (Meta, Google/Search, YouTube, TV, direct mail, print, AI-platform ads)
- Stand up measurement infrastructure (GA4, attribution, MMM as budget scales) to know true CAC by channel and cohort
- Run the optimization cycle: kill what's not working, reallocate to what is
- Hire and build a small team (performance marketing, creative/content, lifecycle) as spend and complexity grow
- Direct creative development that fits Casana's regulated wellness-device language constraints
- Manage lifecycle marketing (email/SMS) and owned channels (newsletter, community)
- Own brand partnership and ambassador strategy alongside the CEO
- Report performance, budget, and hiring plans to the CEO and board on a regular cadence
- Help articulate the value proposition for our target consumers
- Develop compelling stories that educate buyers on a new category, backed by clinical research and launch performance
- Foster a culture of accountability, urgency, and customer excellence, and serve as a trusted commercial advisor to the CEO and executive team
- Other responsibilities as needed
Qualifications
- 10+ years in consumer / D2C growth marketing, with at least a few years at senior director or VP level owning budget and strategy
- Track record scaling a paid media budget from a lean early-stage state ($0–3M) toward real scale, with CAC / LTV discipline throughout
- Demonstrated creativity in channel and content strategy — a history of finding unconventional channels before they got crowded, and content approaches that broke through rather than blended in
- Strong working knowledge of Meta Ads, Google Ads, and GA4, with the interest and ability to operate campaigns directly during the company's early growth stage
- Experience marketing to an older adult (55+) demographic is a strong plus
- Startup or early-stage experience, comfortable being the only marketing person for a stretch before building a team
- You care about health outcomes and want your work to change lives for the older adults and families Casana serves, not just move a metric
